SVTP Informal Training Session
There
are many websites out there. Some sites
are specifically designed to teach ESL.
Some are to be used by the ESL learner; some are to be used as a teacher
resource. You can also use information
on other websites as a resource or introduction to a topic. The list is endless, but includes newspapers,
online catalogues, transport information, tourist information… Before you or
your learner use a website, spend time looking at the site and ask the
following questions:
*What
country is the website from?
*Can I
use the website with my learner?
*Can
they use it alone?
*Will it
help me prepare a lesson?
*Can I
print out the exercises and use them in my lesson?
*How can
I amend the activity to suit my learner’s needs or English level?
*Do I
need to register or pay to use the website or material?
