Span is committed to keeping our spaces accessible while supporting the sustainability of our community house. Fees are therefore based on the type of group and activity, with lower rates for unfunded, free, or volunteer-led community groups, and higher rates for funded organisations and commercial use.
Kitchen and dining room
This space can be used for cooking classes, creative workshops, or meetings. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and induction cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, and a full range of utensils, including pots, pans, crockery, and cutlery.
The adjoining dining area comfortably seats up to 30 people and is perfect for shared meals, group activities, or relaxed gatherings.
Our rooms
Lyrebird room
This spacious and versatile room is ideal for large groups and can comfortably seat up to 70 people. It features a carpeted floor, kitchenette, and access to a secure outdoor area.
For added flexibility, the room can be divided into two distinct spaces using retractable walls, making it suitable for simultaneous sessions or smaller breakout activities.
Room hire includes access to tables, chairs, and whiteboards. Audio-visual equipment is available upon request.
Kookaburra room
This multi-purpose space is ideal for classes, workshops, or meetings. It can comfortably seat up to ten people along built-in wraparound desks and can be easily reconfigured to suit different layouts.
The room can be extended by opening into the adjoining Fairy Wren room, offering additional capacity and versatility.
Laptops and sewing machines are available for an additional fee.
Fairy-wren room
This quiet, private room is ideal for meetings, one-on-one sessions, or focused work. It comfortably seats up to five people and offers a calm environment away from the busier parts of the community house.
The room can be extended by opening into the adjoining Kookaburra room, offering additional capacity and versatility.
